“Discover a mystical wilderness in the Heart of the Icelandic Highlands”
Covering 150 square kilometers, Kerlingarfjöll is a circular mountain range with peaks reaching 1,500 meters. The sweeping highland vistas are framed by the grand glaciers Hofsjökull and Langjökull, offering hikers breathtaking views of Iceland’s most dramatic landscapes and elemental forces.
Formed 300,000 years ago through a series of subglacial volcanic eruptions, the mountains shift with the seasons. In summer, lingering snow and ice create abstract patterns across the stark terrain. In winter, the range is transformed into a pristine white expanse, with snow covering every ridge and valley.
