The 5VH Trail Run (Fimmvörðuhálshlaupið).
The race is along Fimmvörðuháls, from Skógar to Volcano Huts in Húsadal, covering 28 km.

• Start: Skógar
• Race start time: 9:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2026
• Finish: Volcano Huts, Húsadal
• Distance: 28 km
• Time limit: 7 hours (finish by 16:00)

• Prizes for top 3 men and women
• Prizes for first place in each age group

Registration Fees

• ISK 19,900 until December 31
• ISK 22,900 from January 1
• ISK 23,900 after June 30

Note: Registration fees are non-refundable, but name changes can be made until July 31, 2026. Registration closes July 31 or when the race is full.

Included in Registration

• Race bib, course supervision, and timing
• Aid stations at Baldvinsskála (13 km), Strákagil (23 km), Volcano Huts, with water, sports drinks, bananas, chocolate, and Nääk products
• Shower and toilet facilities at Volcano Huts after the race
• Meal at Volcano Huts after the race
• Transportation of personal gear from Skógar to Volcano Huts
• Medical care at Volcano Huts

Not Included

• Bus transfers and race shirt
  • Bus can be booked during registration (race buses from Reykjavík → Skógar and Volcano Huts → Reykjavík the same day)
  • Later, bus options via Volcano Huts will be available from Þórsmörk (Volcano Huts) and Skógar
• Race shirt is optional and can be purchased during registration at a good price. No shirts can be ordered after June 30.
